I see you across the wasteland It seems I'm always chasing you Give me a glimpse of yourself Just to keep me chasing you When we meet We shall palaver Tell my future Tell my fears When I wake I'll be all alone To find that you are Dust and bone Wake to the sound Sounds so profound In a field of a million brilliant roses Calling out names Of all those who gave Their heart and soul So we stand here Wake to the sound So goddamn loud In a field of a million brilliant roses Calling out names Each rose is a grave And they gave their all So we stand here Hold on We're coming home Hold on We're already gone

Cycles 03:35
We live too fast to read this day So fast we cannot run away Too fast our lives will all blur grey There's a candle in the window There's smoke in the stack There's a dakrness in the corners And no turning back To the fields To the fields where we once ran Where we set all our shit on fire No chance to retrace our steps Carried by forward momentum We are gone How we fall The way we crawl Through the soil This turmoil Ever since the sun was not whole We have blindly stumbled Feeling for our feet There's a candle in the window There's smoke in the stack There's a dakrness in the corners And no turning back

Revelations 04:28
The demon wept While his angel slept And a scene in sleep was born She faced her beast With a knowing glare And from the dream Was torn Goodbye you demons Hello freedom Goodbye to the only place Where we can no longer reside She faced her beast with a knowing glare And from the dream was torn A darkness came upon her And gave her eyes to see That she could love herself Because she is worthy Goodbye you demons Hello freedom Goodbye to the only place Where we can no longer reside Takes the darkness Turns it into something pure Never falters In her darkest hour Takes the darkness Turns it into something pure

As the generals amass their human sheilds We must all fly As the rainbow drains of all its colour We must all fly As the sun sets into the holy ground We must all fly With our feet firmly planted Within the ground Only pigs can fly As we make this plea to you As we make this deal with you By the setting of the sun Could you please grow some thumbs Could we make this any clearer As we beg to you our dear Before this bloody day is through Can we all stand true As we make this plea to you As we make this deal with you By the setting of the sun Could you please grow some thumbs Will we all stand our ground Or watch it come falling down

Time is not tick tock A stone is just a smaller rock A key is useless with no lock System always needs a shock We have your shoes And are ten miles away Watching you stand in desert and day While the blind and ignorant souls Eat up the whites of their eyes Tenfold

Maybe we all wear different clothes Maybe our skins are the many colours of the rainbow Maybe we all speak different tongues Surely we all breathe through the same set of lungs To me there is no difference Between president, beggar or king To me all our voices are golden So rise up and sing

This young man Born a ghost A pale shade Devoid of flesh A surgeon's hands could not free him A mother's arms could not hold him A Father's eyes never stood a chance Of seeing anything This old man Plays a game of death With his soul And his bones Drives his spirit To the point of no return This old man opens cupboards And lays his soul so bare Nothing to feed The demons and angels That lurk in there This old man Plays a game of death So fall by the wayside And keep it at arm's length And hold your head in the general place That they all say So fall by the way side And keep it at arm's length And hold your head in the general place That they all say So keep your head still And keep your arms straight We're coming for you In the darkest part of your mind We're all with you

Pandora 02:55
Sky was watching Air was clear Something seems to be happening here Creeping up Like a shadow Was the change of misdirection Corrupting angles with infection Why must we bleed for more At the feet of Pandora Earth can kiss feet The fire's fierce Something seems to happening here Seems we've been walking Around in circles Chasing the tail Of something burning Believing theres a point To returning Why must we bleed for more At the feet of Pandora

about

For their first major recording, Proximity, Adelaide five piece Aphelion have brought together a mix of old and new with tracks such as Song of the Rose going all the way back to the very beginning, when the project was just Tone and his 12 string guitar.

The two part Cycles and Revelations, on the other hand, is amongst the band's newest material, devised and shaped in the push and pull of a fresh line-up defining its sound.

Through the many evolutions of Aphelion over the past four years, it has retained at its core the darkly resonant growl of the beautiful but occasionally menacing 12 string and vocal combination, as a bigger, more dynamic and complex sound has grown up around it.

While the sound has become heavier with the addition of electric guitar from Tone’s Burn The Ashes bandmate, Eamonn O’Boyle, the years spent as an acoustic, gypsy-like three piece are just as prominent as the metal years, delivering real light and shade in these well wrought tunes.

With ideas now flowing faster and freer than ever, the band is already focused on new material, broadening their sound and continuing to evolve on their own unique path.
